I grew up in the East Bay where I attended public schools until graduation in 1974. That fall I attended the University of California at Berkeley. In my senior year, I took an extended leave - eight years! - and pursued a career in dance. In 1985, I returned to Berkeley, graduated, and then received my teaching credential from Berkeley the following year.
In 1988 I began teaching at Vintage High in Napa. Because I wanted to work closer to my home in Glen Ellen, I began teaching at Altimira in 1993 where I have remained ever since. I am also an adjunct instructor for Foothill Community College, and coordinated a technology training program for teachers (called MERIT - Making Education Relevant and Interactive Through Technology) in my school district. In the summer of 2008, I became a Google Certified Teacher after a training at their headquarters in Mountain View.
I live in Glen Ellen with my husband, sculptor Bryan Tedrick.(http://bryantedrick.com/) We have two children: Nathalie, 25 and Jakob, 22.
